Vogue Feature:
Arts & Activism
Artwork created for Black Lives Matter of Greater NY's participation in the 2017 NYC Gay Pride Parade was featured in a Vogue.com editorial gallery photographed by Ryan McGinley.
The work was part of a historic celebration that centered the intersection of Black and LGBTQ+ liberation, honoring icons like James Baldwin and Audre Lorde, and Bayard Rustin. The work was also recognized by NBCOUT for its impact on LGBTQ+ storytelling.
The piece—a liberation poster that extended the Pride flag to include Black and Brown stripes—was a direct visual statement of solidarity, symbolizing the unified struggle against police brutality and for collective freedom.
This feature recognizes the work's role in a defining cultural moment, showcasing an ability to create visuals that drive meaningful dialogue and are archived by the world's leading cultural institutions.

The work is built on a collaborative praxis where my role as artist and audience becomes interchangeable.
